THE STAFF
Helen – Owner
I have a very extensive history in Dressmaking and Patchwork after studying as a Dressmaking and Design Teacher in my early teens.  Several years owning a Country Retail outlet with Fabric and Dressmaking Lessons gave me the grounding to strive to have the opportunity of a more diverse business at a later date.  My passion for Patchwork and Beading has led me down this amazing path.

Jan
Jan knows everything that the rest of us miss.  She is the longest employed person in this 30 year establishment.  Her talents abound with imagination.  A lady who rarely follows the pattern, with some changes imminent.  Her doll making skills will astound you.  Not only does she make these magnificent China Dolls but they also have authentic fabric of the day.  Jan’s experience with Sewing Machines both traditional and Embroidery including specialised machines such as felting and smocking is outstanding.  Her main interest these days is in Patchwork which creates an all rounder.

Toni
Toni is a treasured member of our team who brings many year’s experience in Dressmaking.  Her specialty is in Evening Wear.  Her knowledge of fabrics and the way they fall and look indifference styles compliments her other skills.  A sense of humour mixed with the above will make your time with her in the shop enjoyable.  As she teaches dressmaking and makes all her own clothes she will always have some free flowing advice for you.

Michelle
What can I say, she is my daughter and is the technical head of the business.  She has compiled the website and believe me it is a huge undertaking.  If a computer, printer or the other technical data needs looking at, it is her who fixes it.  If any furniture needs assembling she is the one to do this.  Her position also encompasses the “Goffer” title.  From deliveries of machines, cabinets or picking up of parts, fabrics we call on her.  If you want your Wages, Super, Bas etc etc she’s the one.  Patchwork and magnificent jigsaw assembling is her passion as is the raising of her beautiful 3 year old daughter Bella and my granddaughter.  Not much time after work and child raring to fit in the hobby but it is ever present in her thoughts.  She cant wait for the day she can start designing her own patchwork patterns.  She is the nuts and bolts of the business and most appreciated by all our Team.  My Granddaughter already has a stirring for fabric and haberdashery and loves nothing better to parade in unzipped zips adorning her neck or a pile of fabric and buttons on the floor wrapped together in her array of colours and designs making blankets for her dollies.  She is loved by all.
